Flight of ideas: How Malaysia government can earn SG forex?

Look at my previous post regarding the RON 95 petrol. We must realise that many Singaporeans come to Johor Bahru for shopping as 1singapore dollar = RM 3.22. The price of Malaysia items is low, really cheap compared to Singapore.

Such as chicken rice SG 4.00, Malaysia chicken rice RM 8 = SG 2.50. Singaporeans can save about SG 1.50 which is almost 40%. Every week you can see tons of Singaporean flooded in our shopping mall to buy daily living items. It is crazy as it is so cheap.

As our government say RON 95 is heavily subsided by the government, hence Singaporean are not supposed to pump RON 95 petrol. How about others? Cooking oil? Egg? Sugar? Flour? Even electricity is controlled to prevent price hiking. All transportation did use RON 95 as well. Government try to prevent inflation in our country using our taxpayer's money. Why government want to burden our taxpayers? Why don't they charge more for foreigners? Foreigners coming to Malaysia for tourism mean they have extra money to spend.

Why don't we charge foreigners at a different price? Let's say if you are a foreigner, chicken rice should be priced at RM10 (extra 20%) which is equivalent to SG 3.1.

Singaporeans still can buy items at a slightly less cheap price. It won't have a negative impact on them, as the price is still low compared to Singapore. In addition, it give a positive impact on our Malaysians in which we earn more money in a reasonable way.

It is just a suggestion for heavily subsided stuff. A flight of idea. Some might say if other country charges extra on Malaysians as well? It is arguable. Anyway, we are too fortunate as we are heavily subsided by the government.
