It has been long since I last updated this blog. I am wondering whether people are still reading blog. Lots of social media or video apps like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok have been occupying most of our leisure time. This paradigm shift has changed the way of conveying information. I would rather be listening to a video/podcast rather than reading by myself. Or I choose colourful video rather than wordy paragraph
I almost forget when I started this blog. This blog was mainly to release my emotion/ express my ideas. But apparently, it seems helps a little tiny bit of house officers who going to embark into HSIJB. These house officers may have evolved into medical officers till now.
What is next? Do you think life is as easy as a pie after you became a medical officer? Definitely NO. More challenges ahead awaiting you. Of course, with more responsibility. How to choose your path? Who to seek information? Where would you posted at?
These burning questions should be planned during your housemanship especially at your 4th posting onward. You should start realizing what you want to be in future? What kind of life do you want in future? What makes you happy? And what makes you depressed?
For example: If you are keen to become an Internal medicine MO in future. Maybe you should start studying and preparing for your MRCP paper 1 now. And aim to complete your part 1 prior end of your housemanship.
-this may help you secure a seat in internal medicine department (higher chance)
-with qualification, your action speak louder than word (there are tons of people claim want to do internal medicine, how to prove?)
Besides this, you should try to involve in conferences or webinars about internal medicine. This will show how interested you are in the field. The better house officers may have presented a poster at the conference or publish case reports.
Again....please Think hard about what you want in future? The real you! Face yourself.
Career?
Family?
Personal time?
Selfless contribution?
I think I have been emphasized this frequently. Because you shouldn't regret it once you chose your path.
currently, KKM has finally come out with guideline on how to embark in each department
National postgraduate medical curriculum (NPMC)

Maybe next post I can tell you all....how much money leave, time spent in order to get into the master program...It is really not easy.......
